Pygmy Seahorse Hippocampus bargibanti, Lembeh Strait, North Sulawesi, Indonesia. Pygmy seahorses are tiny fish that display remarkable camouflage – so much so that no species had been discovered until the 1970s. Each species has evolved to associate with a particular host. At a total length of ~2 cm, bargibanti is the largest species of pygmy seahorse but among the smallest fish in the world. It associates exclusively with sea fans of the genus Muricella.
